I have a diary at Advotago where I post my progress on a day-to-day basis, along with descriptions of various other adventures I have. This page will continue to be used for major announcements, but the development diary will be updated much more frequently. Basically nothing much to report today, except for a couple new links, and a little more text on the main page. Also, the web pages are now under RCS, so the revision number and date at the bottom of the pages are now real values. No significant development work to report.

The pwan OCL files were released in the form of a gzipped tarball today. I also went throught the autoconfiscation process, so now people can install the project with the familiar "gzip -d poclc.00.00.01.tar.gz ; tar xvf poclc.00.00.01.tar ; configure ; make" sequence. This was a pain, but I figure it's better to get it out of the way now than to wait until the project was any bigger.

The OCL sources first update ! Mainly, GPL comments were added to the source, and the ocl.cpp driver was update to include text similar ro what is suggested by the GPL. Also, ocl.y was updated to support specifing collection types, which was something left out of the BNF grammer altogether. I also added a copyright notice to the examples.ocl file just in case. This file was also fleshed out to contain more examples from the WK text.

The initial release of the OCL source is available under the pwan CVS repository.

I've moved this project to SourceForge, and things seem to be working pretty well. The last straw for the webhosting.com folks was when my site suddenly disappeared and was replaced by the welcome page for whatever Microsoft's webserver is called. You'd like to think customer service nightmares like this are only found in urban legands, like when people get served deep fried rats at fast food resturants. Oh well.

Now I'm off to see if I can get www.pwan.org redirected to pwan.sourceforge.net

The source will be posted to the SourceForge CVS repository, once I figure out how to use it.

Well, it's been almost two weeks and www.webhosting.com hasn't been able to properly attach www.pwan.org to the IP address they gave me. I can FTP into the address fine, and get to the web site through the IP address, but no domain name mapping. Oh well, I bumped it up to a supervisor. Let's see if that makes a difference.

The initial release of the pages is made available on www.pwan.org.
Actual content is extremely lacking, if I would wait for everything to be perfect, nothing would ever be published.

Reserved www.pwan.org after finding out that www.pwan.com had been reserved already.
Figured it was time to take the plunge, and start building this site.

Started working on the OCL parser, mainly as an exercise in applied insomnia.
I tried maintaining a development journal while this was going on, but it didn't happen. Probably the result of late-night coding:
"Ahh, finally it's fixed !! Damn it's 2:30, I gotta work tomorrow, I'll do the journal entry tomorrow."
